A strategic initiative of the Agricultural University of Athens to strengthen international cooperation in agricultural sciences, with the aim of improving food security and sustainable rural development.
The establishment of the Institute for International Cooperation in Agricultural Sciences for Sustainable Development and Food Security, “DAMIA”, aims to strengthen international cooperation, advance scientific research and promote sustainable agricultural practices. Its main objective is to improve food security and rural development, particularly in developing countries and marginalized communities.
The Institute’s strategic planning is based on specific, measurable and achievable objectives that reflect the needs of international cooperation in the field of agricultural sciences, the connection between research and its practical application, and the promotion of the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals.
